ACS Core Gas Safety (CCN1) reassessment and/or refresher training
CITB certificated
The renewal of an ACS (CCN1) domestic core gas safety certificate through reassessment, for existing gas operatives whose certificate has expired and needs renewing.
Description
ACS gas competency certificates have a lifespan of 5 years and then need renewing. Failure to renew a certificate will render the operative ineligible to work on gas lawfully. This includes all appliances and supplies too, irrespective of when those certificates were obtained. Experienced operatives can opt to take the 1½ days of assessment only. Less experienced or confident operatives are advised to undertake the 1½ days of refresher training too.
Who it’s for
This is for Category 1 candidates i.e. existing gas operatives holding a CCN1 ACS certificate who are working within the gas industry and need to renew their qualification. Note: the CCN1 reassessment route is only recommended for regularly practicing domestic gas engineers. To ensure the best chance of success, operatives e.g. plumbers who undertake gas related work on an infrequent basis should consider renewing their CCN1 qualification under the initial assessment route. This is because success via the reassessment route requires 100% achievement in all areas, with limited opportunity to demonstrate competence in even minor areas on a second attempt.
Entry Requirements
Provision of a CCN1 certificate issued within the last 6 years.
