City and Guilds 6084 certificate in Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating (Level 3)
The Certificate in Energy and Efficiency is a 1 day course designed to enable candidates to demonstrate competence with regards to Part L of the Building Regulations.
Description
Since 2005, it has been a requirement of the Building Regulations (Part L) that all new and replacement domestic boilers and heating systems meet a minimum standard of energy efficiency, and that anyone commissioning a new or replacement heating system must successfully complete a recognized training and assessment program.
Who it’s for
This award is for plumbers, gas fitters and anyone involved in the plumbing and heating sector and the installation of condensing boilers and heating systems.
Entry Requirements
Students should have at least one of the following: C&G Advanced Craft Award or NVQ level 3, or accreditation through an appropriate industry registration scheme e.g. CORGI-ACS, OFTEC - 105E, UKAS, or at least two years experience in the installation of domestic heating and hot water systems.

All course handouts and publications are provided. Candidates are allowed to refer to the approved reference materials during their assessment. When provided, candidates are advised to study the course material in advance of attendance.

Candidates will be provided with a light lunch and refreshments on each day of attendance.
Regulatory requirement?
Yes. The CORGI Gas Competent Person Scheme also has a mandatory requirement that all operatives must hold the City and Guilds 6084 Energy Efficiency certificate or a recognised equivalent.
