Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations
Leading to the City & Guilds 2391 Level 3 qualification

A highly prized qualification in the electrical industry, demonstrating knowledge and ability to conduct electrical testing, inspection and certification of electrical installations spanning domestic and commercial supplies, allowing the holder to issue periodic and new installation test certificates.

Description

Developed in association with the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC), this is the formal qualification in inspection, testing and verification of electrical installations spanning both domestic and 3-phase commercial electrical supplies. The C&G 2391 is the preferred applicant qualification to attain the status of NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor. An intensive 3 days course covering all aspects of inspection and testing in preparation for the City and Guilds 2391 written examination and practical assessment. The course follows the City & Guilds syllabus and includes a written examination and a practical test to achieve the certificate. Time is allowed for techniques and practice so that candidates are conversant with the inspection and testing procedure for BS7671: 2008, understand the need to be able to complete the documentation to BS7671: 2008 and have the knowledge to undertake the City & Guilds 2391 theory examination and practical assessment.

Who it’s for

Designed for experienced electricians and staff of electrical contracting companies who require training in the techniques of inspection, testing and certification of an electrical installation to BS7671: 2008. The qualification forms part of the NICEIC Qualifying Supervisors Scheme.

Entry Requirements

A sound electrical knowledge and experience is essential. The technical requirements of this qualification are at the high end of the electrical contracting spectrum and require candidates to be fully conversant with the electrical regulations. Its content and assessment criteria outweigh the requirements defined under Part P of the Building Regulations. To stand the best chance of success, we strongly recommend candidates attain their certificates in Fundamental Inspection, Testing & Initial Verification (C&G 2392-10) and the 17th Edition (C&G 2382) before undertaking this course. However, consideration, advice and guidance can be given to interested applicants.
