Our Promise
Security and Safety
The college aims to provide a safe and secure environment for students and staff. It works closely with relevant agencies and authorities to ensure high standards of security, health and safety and endeavours at least to meet the standards of nationally legislated Health and Safety regulations. The college provides compulsory training on Health & Safety and safe working practices for all staff and students, details of which is provided to students when they first attend.
Religion
In recognition of the importance of religious belief and practice for personal and social life, and as an enhancement to educational development, the college attempts to make reasonable efforts to provide facilities for the practice of r eligion e.g. a quiet room for prayer. The college believes that students should have freedom of expression of their religious beliefs and allows students flexibility to express those beliefs, provided this does not interfere with teaching or with the beliefs of others. All students are expected to respect the rights of others to hold, or not hold, and express their own religious beliefs.
Equal opportunities
The college promotes and supports the rights of all individuals to equality of opportunity. Staff promote anti-discriminatory practice and actively attempt to identify direct and indirect discrimination. We strive to ensure that our activities, policies, actions and procedures comply with relevant legislation with regard to equality of opportunity.
Problems and complaints
The college aims to provide the services and facilities for academic study to a high standard. But it recognises that very occasionally students may face problems with the level or quality of provision. For this reason the college has a formalised complaints procedure designed to treat problems in a manner that is timely, simple, transparent and consistent. No complaint by a student will prejudice their future dealings with college staff or departments. The college displays the arrangements by which concerns should be raised in reception areas and in workshops and a copy of the college’s complaints procedure is available from student services.
