Renewable & Energy efficiency programmes
Our state-of-the-art renewable (green) energy training facilities are brand new and include the latest innovations in the industry and purpose-built demonstration apparatus, which you will get to work on and use in your training.
Alternative (green) energy, or “renewables” is rapidly becoming the biggest growth area in domestic energy installations as consumers seek ways to reduce the cost of heating and lighting their homes and businesses, while also cutting greenhouse emissions. The demand for such systems is being fuelled by the various grants on offer to householders (and the government has announced a significant increase in the level of these grants), and also by pending regulation – where new properties will have to be built fitted with renewable energy systems.
In June 2008 the Energy Minister - Malcolm Wicks said “Britain would undergo a £100bn 'green revolution', with plans to fit a quarter of British homes with solar heating panels and erect thousands of new wind turbines”. According to UK Government reports, the UK will need 7 million new solar hot water installations by 2020.
This is very good news for plumbers, heating engineers and new entrants into the industry and we are proud to offer a wide range of the latest nationally recognised renewable energy training courses from BPEC, LOGIC and others. And because the courses we offer are nationally recognised, once you have trained you will be eligible to join the appropriate approved installer grants schemes.
Note: This is worth noting, because although manufacturer specific courses may be useful, they often focus on a single product and as a consequence may not entitle you to join a grant scheme. If you are planning to go on a manufacturer’s course be sure to get clarification on this point.
