Sanitary Accommodation Installation Maintenance and Design
Leading to the City & Guilds 6032 qualification

The essential knowledge and skills, to design, fit and maintain sanitary installations e.g. bathrooms and WCs. The course covers all parts of the City and Guilds 6032: Sanitary Accommodation Installation, Domestic Commissioning, Domestic Maintenance and Bathroom Design

Description

This hands-on practical course includes installing; a bath and fittings, pedestal hand basin, close coupled and low level toilet, soil connections, waste pipe and soil stack, maintaining a siphon valve and soil pipe air testing. It has been designed to enable new and experienced installers to prove competence in the areas of designing, installing and maintaining sanitary accommodation, bathrooms and cloakrooms. This is a ‘hands-on’ practical course and is assessed by way of candidates completing a series of pre-defined practical tests as well as an open book examination. Candidates will carry out a copper pipe-work installation to a pre-defined bathroom plan and specification, connected to and tested by a mains pressure water supply - the acid-test of a candidate’s true skill! They will then be tutored and assessed in the installation of the sanitary accommodation units i.e. bash, toilet and wash basin, plus receive tuition in the installation and maintenance of mixer showers.

Please Note: Achievement of the 6032 on its own will not qualify the holder as a plumber. This course should be viewed as a foundation and should not be considered an end result unless individuals are solely seeking to work on sanitary accommodation.

Who it’s for

Individuals wishing to formally prove their competence in the design, installation and maintenance of sanitary accommodation in bathrooms and cloakrooms, individuals seeking to operate as a bathroom installer, or individuals seeking a career in plumbing and planning to progress onto further awards e.g. C&G 6129/6089.
