Support for Students

Most students quickly learn to cope with the everyday problems of study, although from time to time, there may be a need to seek expert assistance, practical advice and even personal counselling.

Liam Bundy – Heating & Ventilation Apprenticeship

Peter Bundy’s son, Liam, attends ATL and receives substantial support as he has a heart problem and dyslexia. In three years he has successfully completed his NVQ Level 3 H&V Advanced apprenticeship and is now undertaking a Level 2 Gas apprenticeship.

"ATL has been fantastic with Liam in that they have been flexible with hospital appointments but have always ensured he has been kept totally informed of the training schedules and requirements to complete the course," said Peter. "Not only that, he has received support from the Learning Support team, and his high exam grades show this has worked very well."

And it’s not just the help with Liam that has impressed Peter.

"Nothing looks as easy as it does on paper and the great thing about ATL is that the apprentices’ training is very hands-on. There is a huge difference between reading and practical working. From a students’ perspective, the workshops are excellent because once a task has been undertaken two or three times they know exactly how it should be done, and they don’t have to rely on just writing the answer in a book."

"I would definitely recommend ATL to any company seeking a solid apprenticeship."

"It’s absolutely fantastic to be working for the family business," adds Liam. "My grandfather found AR Bundy Heating & Plumbing 50 years ago and I am glad to carry on the tradition of delivering top quality workmanship."
